Communications intern with WWF's Forests Forward programme

We are looking for an intern for the autumn term who will mainly be involved in supporting communications for our Forests Forward and Forests For Life programmes. Forests Forward is a signature WWF programme for corporate action in support of nature, climate, and people. With over 24 participants including IKEA and HP, and growing fast, the programme’s work includes working with companies on responsible sourcing, sustainable forest management, as well as conservation projects in forest landscapes around the world.
During the internship you will get experience with content and narrative creation, including planning and writing stories, compiling newsletters and reports and social media posts. As well as with coordinating strategic communications projects, analytics, and organising webinars/events. Proficiency with graphics (e.g. InDesign, Canva) and video is a welcome bonus.
We are looking for someone who is curious and enjoys getting stuck in. You’ll get the chance to develop an amazing set of experiences as a communications officer and be embedded in a friendly, professional, and dynamic international team.
Desirable qualifications
- Skilled communicator and a great writer (in English)
- Precise, proactive and a fast learner
- Creative and solutions-oriented
- Experience with social media, especially LinkedIn
- Preferably competent with graphics and video editing
- Passionate about sustainability and the environment, preferably with an understanding and interest in topical biodiversity and climate issues
- Excellent oral and written proficiency in English (Swedish not necessary, but helpful)
- Studying at a relevant university or higher education institution, preferably specialising in communications
Time and arrangement
The internship is full time, 38 hours per week, and not suitable to combine with other full-time studies/work.
The internship period is autumn semester 2025, the exact weeks are flexible and can be adjusted to fit in with the structure of different courses. Being able to stay longer is a plus but the internship should not be shorter than 3 months.
The internship can be remote for up to fifty percent of the time.
Requirements for internship
To apply for an internship with WWF Sweden, you need to fulfil one of the criteria listed below, throughout the entire internship period. You are responsible for researching and ensuring that you meet one of the criteria.
- You are admitted to or have applied to an internship/work placement course (as part of a programme or independent course) via a university or higher education institution.
- You are eligible to apply for arbetspraktik via the Swedish Public Employment Service (Arbetsförmedlingen).
- You are eligible to apply for Erasmus+ funding.
We do not make any exceptions from the requirements.
We do not offer any salary or compensation during the internship.
WWF Sweden’s internship programme
As an intern at WWF, you will be one of several interns within WWF Sweden's internship programme. You will have the opportunity to learn more about and be inspired by other aspects of WWFs work, and become part of a social, learning-oriented community with your fellow interns and WWF employees. You will have a supervisor who supports you, helps you develop and wants you to try your hand at as much as possible in your field.
