WWF is hiring a Communications Specialist for the Global Arctic Programme

The WWF Global Arctic Programme is working for a well-managed, biodiverse, and resilient Arctic, supporting healthy viable populations of wild species and benefiting the well-being of people in the Arctic and beyond. We are looking for an experienced Communications Specialist to work with our communications on social media, web and other digital content. You will be part of a dynamic team of multi-disciplinary experts, taking proactive responsibility for digital content and communications for the Global Arctic Programme.
We are looking for an experienced and highly organized communications professional with fluent, flawless English. You will work from WWF’s office in Stockholm, Sweden but support communications and audience engagement for WWF’s work throughout the Arctic.
Major duties and responsibilities
- Create, manage and schedule social media content (text, images, video, and graphics) across multiple platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram, X, YouTube).
- Publish, update, and maintain website content, ensuring accuracy, SEO best practices, and identifying opportunities for audience growth and engagement. Co-manage the editorial calendar to meet publishing deadlines.
- Produce our monthly newsletter, managing mailing lists, growing subscribers, and engaging with Arctic communicators to expand reach and impact.
- Responsible for our internal digital tools and platforms (intranet, photo bank, info mailbox, presentation templates)
- Monitor and analyze digital performance, compiling insights and key metrics to track engagement and audience growth. Provide data-driven recommendations and regular reports to optimize reach and impact across digital channels.
Qualifications and experience
- Experience in digital communications with 3+ years in social media management, content creation, and website publishing, supported by relevant education.
- Strong content creation skills, including writing, graphic design, video production, and editing, with the ability to craft engaging content for diverse platforms and audiences. Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro (or similar), and Canva.
- Website and SEO expertise, with experience managing content through CMS platforms like WordPress, ensuring SEO best practices, and using Google Analytics 4 to track and optimize performance.
- Proficiency in social media management, including experience with tools like Sprout Social or similar, audience engagement strategies, and data-driven optimization to enhance reach and impact.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills, with the ability to monitor performance, provide insights, and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines. Excellent communication and editing skills in English, with a solution-oriented mindset. Bonus: Experience in environmental issues and cross-cultural collaboration.

The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the Senior Communications Lead and report to the Director, Global Arctic Programme and be part of a multidisciplinary core team, working closely with other WWF staff, particularly in offices in Arctic countries.
WWF Sweden’s office is beautifully situated at Ulriksdal Palace (Solna, Stockholm), with views overlooking the water. You will be part of a team with dedicated, skilled employees in a stimulating, international environment.
