Intern with the WWF Baltic Sea programme: Project management and communication

We are seeking a motivated and organized intern to join our WWF Baltic Sea Programme team and take part in our EU funded BaltCOP project. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in international environmental project management and communications while contributing to meaningful conservation work. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful conservation work while developing valuable skills in project management, communications, and stakeholder engagement. You'll work alongside experienced professionals in an international NGO setting and gain insight into how collaborative environmental projects drive real change for the Baltic Sea.

The EU funded Interreg BaltCOP – the Baltic Catchment Officer Project – focuses on testing the innovative catchment approach to motivate, support, and drive restoration work and reduce nutrient runoff across catchments in Estonia, Latvia and Sweden. Desirable qualifications
Is a skilled communicator and fluent written and spoken English
Is precise and proactive in driving work forward
Is creative and solution oriented
Ability to stick to deadlines and manage multiple tasks
Willingness to develop critical thinking skills and work through project timelines
Is passionate about water management and agriculture
Is studying at a relevant university or higher education institution, preferably with tangible experience in communications and/or project management.
Time and arrangement
The internship starts August 31, 2026.
The internship is full time, 38 hours per week, and not suitable to combine with other full time studies/work. We offer the possibility of hybrid work, with the flexibility to work both from the office and from home for up to fifty percent of your time each week.
Requirements for internship
To apply for an internship at WWF Sweden, you must be enrolled in a 30-credit internship course at a Swedish university or college, be completing a workplace-based learning (LiA) placement through a vocational college, or have a work-placement approved by the Swedish Public Employment Service (Arbetsförmedlingen). You need to remain connected to one of these institutions for the entire duration of the internship.
We do not make any exceptions from the requirements.
We do not offer any salary or compensation during the internship.
WWF Sweden’s internship programme
As an intern at WWF, you will be one of several interns within WWF Sweden's internship program. You will have the opportunity to learn more about and be inspired by other aspects of WWF’s work, and become part of a social, learning-oriented community with your fellow interns and WWF employees. You will have a supervisor who supports you, helps you to develop and wants you try your hand at as much as possible in your field. WWF Sweden’s office is beautifully situated at Ulriksdal Palace (Solna, Stockholm), with views overlooking the water. You will be part of a team with dedicated, skilled employees in a stimulating, international environment.
